Nelson Scholarship Fund Trust

A trust fund established in 1976 and increased in 1982, established for the purpose of awarding scholarships to high school graduates of Taylor County, Texas each year.

The Nelson Scholarship Fund Trust is administered by a committee of AWCF members. It allows the club an additional way to emphasize the importance of education by supporting students.

Abilene Educational Endowment, Inc.

Held by the Community Foundation of Abilene in coordination with a committee of AWCF members.

Donations to this fund allow the AWCF to award multiple scholarships for Non-Traditional Local College and University students. It also funds our Girls of the Month program.

Applications Now Open for AWCF Educational Endowment, Inc. Scholarship

The Abilene Woman’s Club Foundation is now accepting applications for the AWCF Educational Endowment, Inc. Scholarship. This opportunity is aimed at non-traditional college students balancing major life and work responsibilities, such as full-time employment and/or dependents. Two scholarships of $1,500 each will be awarded for the Spring 2025 semester.

To apply, submit a completed application, including the required information form, letters of reference, and essay, by October 31, 2024.

Girls of the Month

This program honors local 8th grade female students from local junior highs and middle schools who have been selected by their teachers and counselors.

Three times a year a reception is held to celebrate Girls of the Month from the previous three months. Girls and their families are invited for a short program, refreshments, and social time.
